cool female paralympians
It was the moment where Natasha Baker mouthed “this is where I start crying” as the national anthem started to play that caused me to shed a few tears too – the gold medal-winning para-equestrian’s overwhelming delight and pride at topping the podium was infectious and incredibly moving.
danielle brown
The fabulous Ms Brown made history when she became the first Paralympian to also win a medla in able-bodied games. In short, she totally rocks.

cool female olympian of the day
She battled her way to win Team GB’s first ever gold medal in taekwondo and at just 19 Jade Jones is our youngest medallist in these games. In our book that makes her pretty cool.

Nicola Adams with the first ever Olympic gold medal…
athletics
Usually I’m the very last person who appreciates a sob story, but this isn’t the X Factor, this is the Olympic Games, and there’s more at stake then getting the chance to do a cheesy cover version and having a public spat with Louis Walsh.

beth tweddle
I chose this picture of Beth Tweddle because although Team GB didn’t manage to bag a medal in the group gymnastics competition, I think it’s pretty obvious that she’s an absolute legend.
female olympians
On Sunday Team GB’s superstar swimmer Rebecca Adlington lost her 400m freestyle title but won the bronze medal and tearfully expressed her joy and gratitude for the crowd’s support.
