feminism
"Why are men such girls?" my friends who are looking for a certain kind of dude might ask -- and it makes me throw up in my mouth a little every single time.
books
Honestly, have you ever picked up a book and from the very first page, felt like the writer was describing you, your life and innermost hopes and fears? That’s how I felt when I started reading In The Mink: Fashion Was My Business by Anne Scott-James.
literature
From novels to glossy coffee table books, poetry anthologies to biographies, fashion writing is a rich, diverse world to immerse yourself in.

video games
I care a lot about games and I'm not sorry.
gdc
Video games are changing, and more women are playing them. Whether you like it or not.
film
Films are incredibly good at making the political personal – from Marjane Satrapi’s Persepolis to Vice Film’s Heavy Metal In Baghdad, they help us connect and this is even more vital for women who are so often silenced.
kept woman
I never dreamed I would be That Girl staying at home with her man's money footing the bill. But here I am.

international women's day
I went to an International Women's Day event last night that debunked both the myth that women aren't funny, and the myth that every comedy night has to have at least one bad act.
international women's day
I think I was most star-struck by Zaha, a fascinating and daunting figure who has always intrigued me...
feminism
What If I'm not a real feminist? What if the Grand High Feminist Council turn around and sneer at my bald legs and made up face? What if I fail the entry exam because I haven’t read How to Be a Woman and instead spend my time watching Don’t Tell the Bride reruns?
capitalism is not your friend
Mayer thinks maternity leave is for chumps, wants to abolish working from home, and seems to have a vision of “equality” that involves women being just like men -- even though they live in a society where this isn’t feasible.
consent
Why aren't we talking about consent more? It isn't just about sex, it's about everything we do, or don't do in life. Yes, we might chant a bit of 'Yes means yes and no means no' on a march but how often do you analyse a chant?
feminism
Her opening gambit was “I’m not a feminist, I love men”, which if it isn’t the very reason the internet term ‘facepalm’ was invented, should be
feminism
#TellAFeministThankYou is trending on Twitter. But is it a big deal to thank people who don't identify as feminists?
ella henderson
I remember, as a teenager, having a disagreement with a friend of mine when I wouldn’t call myself a feminist because I said that it implied that I hated men and I was terrified of being seen as anything other than a desirable, sexual being who just loved guys.
nudity
There's a prevailing viewpoint that sees women's bodies as consumables, and men as instinct-driven brainless beasts. I spend good portion of my time nude in a semi-public context. So, if this was true, I would be at risk of gang rape every time I posed for a class.

age
No-one is immune to the pressure of trying to obtain a perfect version of themselves. We spend hours and days buying the latest clothes, sucking in our stomachs and punishing ourselves for breathing because we all think we need to be better.
feminism
It is somewhat sick-making to see a successful woman lauded as a feminist icon and to be told any other woman who equals her owes her a great debt; when said woman would quite happily climb over her sister’s heads to triumph.
feminism
We need to talk about the men who claim to be feminists in public, but treat women like crap in private.

television
This is a man who describes the best punch he ever threw as the one that hit his ex-wife, Robin Givens. This is not a nice man. He is not an ally of women or victims. He is the opposite, he is a perpetrator, and not one who feels much remorse by the sounds of it.
