Okay, the usual disclaimers - IANAD (I am not a doctor), YANAD (you are not a doctor), UYAAD (unless you are a doctor), IWCPGMSFD (in which case please give me some fucking drugs)*.
On Tuesday a migraine walloped me while I was at work - I was put in a taxi home then crawled into bed, where I stayed for three days (it's now Friday) rolling around with crippling pain and nausea. The usual treatments (prescription medication*** and sleep, which normally get rid of my migraines within 24 hours) didn't even touch the sides.
I've talked to a doctor, I have more medication, and am going to “see how it goes” over the weekend.
Which is where you come in, dear reader. For two days now I've been in the “post-drome” (migraine hangover) stage, where I'm not writhing in pain, but not completely in the world of the living either. But the migraine is there, constantly tapping me on the shoulder and threatening to swamp my head in pulsing pain and grainy nausea again. So my question to you is:
WHAT DO YOU DO TO KEEP MIGRAINES AT BAY?
What works for you? Head-banging? Self-surgery? I will try ANYTHING. Bathing in the blood of virgins. Consulting shamans. “Just relaxing a bit more”. Seriously. Bring it on.
CORRECTION: I will try ALMOST anything.
*This is a joke**.
**Look at me, able to joke through pain. I'm like Joan of Arc or some shit.
