Beauty blogger and queen of the online make-up tutorial, Lauren Luke, has created a video that's designed to shock.

Explaining why she decided to make the video for Refuge, the charity that campaigns against domestic violence, Luke said "Domestic violence is a huge issue and I really don't think it gets the exposure that it needs." She goes on to explain "One in four women are affected by [domestic violence]... it's not just physical abuse, it could be emotional, psychological and financial as well. Basically if a woman has to change her behaviour around her partner she is experiencing domestic violence."

Lauren is involved in Refuge's Don't Cover It Up campaign which aims to highlight the fact that thousands of women who experience domestic violence are too frightened to seek help, trying instead to cover up the abuse. With Lauren, Refuge want to spread the message that help and support are available. Lauren says, "You're not alone, you need to reach out and get some help, you don't need to suffer this in silence. Refuge are there to help - you can find them at refuge.org.uk and there's lots of people there waiting to hear from you and look after you."

If you are experiencing domestic abuse visit refuge.org.uk or call 0808 2000 247 (freephone) for advice and support.
